Welcome to the Golfing Canyon State!

One of biggest golf bunkers in the World exists here among the lush desert Arizona landscapes - The Grand Canyon, crystal-clear waters and breathtaking mountain peaks. From small communities to one of the fastest growing cities in the United States, Arizona offers golf experiences packed with hospitality, adventure, and stunning sights.

No other state offers such diverse landscape and versatility. Known for its tranquil desert sunsets, Arizona experiences offer so much more, especially in terms of golfing. Majestic mountain ranges, cool pine forests with changing seasons, all add to a great golfing experience.

Few know of Arizonas temperature ranges that actually accommodate water skiing and snow skiing in the same day. From the Grand Canyon to rich Native American traditions, Arizona offers vibrant colors and landscapes with breathtaking mountains, swift rivers and gracious grasslands and their golf courses take advantage of this.

The desert is also home of the Wild West, the land of cowboys and indians and now the golfer. The character of the Old West is epitomised in the old mining town of Tombstone, the site of the famous shootout at the OK Corral where staged gunfights, swinging saloon doors and old wooden buildings are reminders of the harsh past that respected the 'law of the gun'.

Outside the cities, the Native Americans who have lived in Arizona for centuries make up the majority of the population, and more than a third of the land is encompassed within Indian Reservations and remains tranquil and protected from developers.

Arizona's golf courses are as diverse and spectacular as its landscape. With more than 300 courses across the state, Arizona can offer a unique golfing experience. Pure Vacations golf programme is set in Scottsdale.

Scottsdale's city setting in the heart of the lush Sonoran Desert gives visitors bountiful opportunities for outdoor adventure in places like the McDowell Sonoran Preserve and McDowell Mountain Regional Park and ofcourse on the golf course. For adventure of the indoor variety, arts aficionados will appreciate the city's more than 125 galleries, studios and museums. One of the top arts destinations in the United States, Scottsdale attracts world-renowned talent to its galleries, museums and performing arts centers. Scottsdale offers restaurants that are authentic and cater for all with specializations in Mexican and Native American food which are plentiful in Scottsdale.

Arizona has mild winters and hot summers that mean great golfing weather all year longr. During winter temperatures average 70°F (21°C) and in the summer temperatures can vary but average 80°F (27°C). Snow falls on the mountains in the winter, but not in the desert areas, and the mild temperatures in the southern desert attract many golfers during winter.
