At long last we bring you the flag ship city of America where it really does feel like dreams can come true. As soon as you arrive in New York City, be it through any of the 3 airports (LaGuardia, John F. Kennedy or Newark), your senses are hit with a barrage of different feelings encountered hardly anywhere else on earth. The complete cosmopolitan nature of it's 6 million inhabitants, the sights and sounds of the worlds most bustling city, the extremities of it's diverse culture & history, both recent and deep-rooted, makes New York a travellers fantasy.
New York Cities remarkable variation in culture comes thanks to the way the City is formed, with each of it's famed 5 regions (The Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens and Staten Island) all offering something very different but all being within close proximity to the other.
Fancy partaking in Americas favourite past time (no not TV watching, Baseball) then catch a bus or take the subway down to the Bronx where you can visit the home of the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium. After the ball game why not take a trip to the Bronx Botanical Garden and check out the astonishing varieties of plant life on display.
No trip to New York is complete without checking out the world famous Brooklyn Bridge and whilst in the area you can't miss America's classic Amusement park at Coney Island. If you're feeling ambitious how about walking the boardwalk all the way over to Brighton Beach, a true Russian neighbourhood complete with Cyrillic signs everywhere and English as the second language.
If it's Museums you're after then Queens is the place to be, with the renowned contemporary arts museum P.S. 1, then stay the day touring Noguchi's modern sculpture, contemporary African art, and even a landmark to graffiti.
The region named by most visitors to New York as their favourite has to be Manhattan. This is the real New York we all know, made famous by Hollywood, you can't fail to be blown away by the incredible skyline (home of the Empire State Building) or the sights and sounds of Time Square where no trip is complete without dinner and a show on Broadway.
Just across the river, a short trip by ferry lies Staten Island. A great little Island famed for its greeneries, it's here that you'll find arguably New York's nicest parks and beaches, perfect for that afternoon stroll.
