Uncrowded surf, crystal clear water, colourful living reefs, excellent fishing, incredible scenery, tropical rainforest and the tribal societies in one of the last surfing frontiers... Be one of the lucky few to visit islands isolated and untouched by modern tourism... leave the 21st century behind... walk on white sand beaches, stay in thatched huts fronting aqua-blue lagoons... stay with local families who are happy to share their traditional and timeless way of life with us.

A trip to the Solomons is an adventure to one of the last frontiers of surfing and the modern world in the hands of knowledgable and very experienced guides. Rural Solomon Islanders are subsistence farmers and fishermen - growing their own organic food, fishing and selling what they have extra as surplus in local markets. In the villages there is no electricity, rarely even a road, no telephones, no shopping centres, very little use of fuel and little presence of any kind of government. Yet communities are well organised, provide their own services, maintain beautiful villages and have a very rich, diverse and hospitable culture.

People have a rich knowledge of and make practical daily use of their environment - their forests, land, gardens, reefs and ocean. Most houses are made in the traditional way from materials such as round poles and sago palm thatch. They are beautiful, cool and comfortable. Villages range from secluded hamlets to man made ancient artificial islands inside the lagoon.

Tropical rainforests, rugged mountains, freshwater rivers, mangroves, and coral reefs make Solomon Islands one of the top ten most biologically diverse countries in the world. Solomons is part of the 'coral triangle' with the highest marine biodiversity on the planet and what many are now calling the 'amazon of the sea'. This environmental diversity is combined with incredible cultural diversity. On one island alone there are often 6-8 languages and distinct cultures are often only walking distance form each other.

In partnership with village people of the Solomon Islands, we combine knowledge of the surf breaks, culture and environment to offer what for many will be a once in a lifetime ethical surf tourism experience combined with the chance to surf magical warm water waves never or rarely surfed before.

On our guided expedition we go to places where very few tourists or any outsiders go. People on our trips have the unique opportunity of receiving a genuine welcome and making real friends with the people they meet in some of the most remote and traditional communities in the Pacific.
The expeditions provide many opportunities to observe and share in a very different way of life.

Your guides provide an in depth cultural insight as well as information about the land and sea ecology and its use by local people. Experiences include local music, dancing, traditional food, practical crafts, markets - all in their vibrant living form and not recreated for tourists.
You may be at once inspired and sometimes challenged to reflect on the simplicity and richness of traditional village life.

Its a unique experience and a unique opportunity to share in this world with the help of experienced guides with a long history of involvement in the local communities.

Our model of tourism provides real benefits to local people and strengthens their culture, environment and way of life. We visit their land and surf on their reefs as guests of tribes.  Our tours are done in a very sensitive way: respecting local beliefs, local people and the environment.

Apart from surfing there are a lot of other things to do. In fact we really emphasise our tours are not only about surfing - although thats a big part. You should also be coming as much for the unique culture and environment of the Solomons that we will share with you. This is a rare chance to surf a tropical chain still relatively unexplored and offering something special both in surf and cultural exchange.
