The airline introduced a paid pre-select dining option in 2022 for economy passengers on short and medium-haul flights to or from Zurich and Geneva. Later that year, SWISS rolled out a complimentary pre-select dining service for business class customers on long-haul routes. This service has now been extended to short-haul business class passengers.

Travellers on flights lasting over one hour between Zurich and other destinations, departing after 10:00 AM, can now choose from six cold dishes accompanied by cheese and dessert. For those on longer short-haul routes, a selection of seven hot main courses is available, with one option from the renowned SWISS Taste of Switzerland menu, typically reserved for long-haul services.

The available dishes will be refreshed every three months, and passengers can view and preselect their preferred meal online between six weeks and 24 hours before departure.

According to SWISS, this pre-select service optimizes the loading process, allowing the airline to reduce food waste by minimizing the unnecessary disposal of unused meals.
